NOTE: for those of you visiting from Pinterest and other sites- I realize that with the recent school shootings, this might be considered inappropriate, so please take this thought into account before using these valentines at school. I made this project back in 2010, and we live in a small rural western area, so we look at this gun as a fun "wild west" sort of theme. I realize that not all areas would see it in that light, so please keep this in mind.
I am an eleventh hour sort of gal. It seems that there is so much to get done, that I tackle everything last minute (that is my organizational secret...don't do it unitl it needs done LOL!). I am trying to help the kids get their valentines all done for school exchanges. We never buy them, we always make them ourselves, so sometimes it gets a little hairy last minute. Russell decided he wanted something more boyish, so we decided to make these cute little guns and holsters. Lily's preschool teacher gave a similar handmade valentine to her last year, and I thought they were just so cute. I hung onto them all year, and I decided to redraw the whole thing and shrink it down a bit so that it didn't take up so much paper. You'll have to use the smaller sticks of gum, not the standard size since I shrunk everything down. I'm busy printing them today so that he can assemble them tonight, and I thought I would share the print off I made for them with my blog readers. Maybe you're a last minute gal like me??? Or maybe you can use them next year :) Now I'm off to tackle the two page list of things to get done today...

Simply download and print the template onto white cardstock. You can use the white cardstock as the holster, or you can cut a holster out of colored paper or patterned paper. Fold the holster over and glue around edges. Add a stick of gum and you're done!
Lily and Kate took their Valentines to preschool this morning...we just made them photo valentines with suckers taped on the back...
