Easter Weekend

We feel so blessed to have had such a beautiful Easter weekend. Nothing makes me feel closer to my Savior than being outside in the beautiful world around me...especially in the springtime when new life is abounding all around me. We had a blessed weekend full of family and fun. We started out with my sister-in-law's small community egg hunt...

and then it was off to grandma Christensen's house for her egg hunt...

My parents came over that evening for a delicious dinner and a family jam session...

On Easter, we had our traditional Steffler family Easter picnic. The weather was gorgeous...and everyone had a great time!

 

Dyeing Easter Eggs

We woke up to snow this morning. It has been beautiful all week, but a storm came through last night and left a blanket of fresh snow on the ground. Even though it was cold outside, we decided to dye Easter eggs inside. The kids were so excited...they completed all of their morning chores in record time so that we could get on with the egg dyeing. I used two tutorials from Pinterest for the eggs this year. First, I used this tutorial for boiling the eggs and this tutorial for coloring the eggs with food coloring. We were very impressed with the bright/bold colors. The white eggs were bright, and the brown eggs were more of a jewel tone. The kids like to write on the eggs with a white crayon first so that their name shows up on the eggs...

we also spent some time making a few little Easter crafts...

My children devoured the eggs almost as fast as they dyed them. Lily told me after we cleaned up that she ate six eggs! They love boiled eggs!
