Simple Pleasures

Some of the simple pleasures that have been brightening my days:

Going to an estate sale on Friday and finding three beautiful vintage quilt tops, that were all hand sewn from old flour sack prints, an apron, embroidered dish towels and a few pieces of vintage fabric...

and a stack of vintage childrens books to add to my collection...

as well as a stack of vintage floral hankies...

baby kittens...

freshly mowed lawn...

Pink Flowering Almond blossoms...

Grape Hyacinths...

fragrant flowering crab apple tree by my front porch...

hanging laundry on the line...

planting spring flowers in my pots (which will be replaced with summer flowers as soon as it warms up more around here)...

picking Lilacs. We have a huge bouquet in the house that smells amazing!

Domestic Darlings

I found my girls the cutest little vintage kitchen set for Christmas this year...it has been well loved, and worn...and that makes it all the cuter. I especially love that it is built from solid wood...and not plastic or laminate junk that you can buy these days. We have stocked it with a bunch of random thrifted treasures, and they are having so much fun with it! They have been playing restaurant and house and all sorts of fun things...I love watching them pretend ;)

the little red chairs are from a thrift store too...they were old child-sized school chairs, and they were in horrible shape, but only $2 a piece. I spray painted them with red paint, and they turned out so cute!
