No...not that scale. We all know that I like food way to much to watch that scale to closely, but I do have a real thing for vintage kitchen scales. I've been out of town for almost two weeks dragging my kids around to the Idaho State fiddle contest and then to Nationals in Weiser, so things have been busy. I spotted an adorable little vintage store in Weiser, and I was so excited to find another beautiful vintage scale to add to my collection! It was the first item that caught my eye when I walked into the store, and I knew it had to come home with me. After getting the new scale cleaned up and nestled into it's new home, I thought I would share it and a few of my scales with you...
Here is the beautiful new scale. I love the minty green color and WOW...the bowl shaped platform on top is so fun! I have it displayed in my laundry room...
This is another beautiful minty green scale. I especially love the chippy scale face and the font and text on the front. It is displayed on my entry way table with a bunch of vintage readers I have picked up over the years at yard sales and thrift stores.
My kitchen is all about RED, so I had always wanted a red scale...but it seemed elusive for many years. One day, I walked into one of my favorite vintage shops, and there it was...staring me in the face. It didn't take me long to decide to bring it home. It sits on my kitchen island surrounded by vintage linens and my chicken salt and pepper shaker collection.
This last scale, came from a local "junk" store. When I saw it hanging from the ceiling, I immediately asked to have it taken down and put into my hands :) It hangs in my kitchen near my old hoosier cabinet. I was told that it was a produce scale and it used to hang in an old grocery store!
