It was a last minute trip...the kids and I had never been to Disneyland, and David hadn't been since he was very young, so we decided to make it happen. We loaded up the car and the kids and hit the road!!! We loved Disneyland! The rides were amazing, and there were so many fun things to do! The only downsides, were that there were way too many people for us country folk (and we went on one of the slowest weeks of the year), and things were sooooo expensive! We had park hopper passes for three days, and honestly, after three whole days, I was just plain exhausted. We went on almost every ride in both parks (besides a few that were too "babyish") and we were able to go on their favorite rides three or four times each. The kids loved every minute of it, so it was worth it. I was so happy to see the smiles on their faces!
We drove to Disney, and because it was a 15 hour drive, we stopped off for a night in Las Vegas. The kids couldn't believe how many people, buildings, and lights there were! We ventured out on the strip for a bit...and took the kids to the Coke store (where they tried a sampling of Coke products from around the world) and the M&M Factory, but that was about all we dared to do with them. There are a lot of crazy people in Vegas, and of course, a lot of things that we didn't want them to see...but it was good for them to get out of our little Idaho bubble for a bit and see what it's like in the city.
We enjoyed beautiful weather (in the 80s!), and the kids were glad to be able to spend some time in the pool. We also went to the beach in California. The kids loved picking up sea shells and playing in the sand, but the water was cold!
