Grace has had the "creative bug" lately. She wants to spend her afternoons creating once her schoolwork, chores & violin practice are over. We decided to make some ornaments for our tree and some to use as toppers for presents. We went to the thrift stores and picked up some old music books and a few old patterns (spent a whopping $2) and put them together with a few things we had at home. They turned out pretty schnazy...and they were fun for us to make together.
This first one is for my lil sis, Shelby (sorry to spoil the surprise Bee). I had to put a yodeling cowgirl on it just for her ;) We just used the sheet music to make an accordian flower and then made a sewing pattern flower using the old pattern papers to layer on top...
for this one, we did the same as the first, but used un-bleached coffee filters for the back layer...
Grace is trying it out with newspaper and tulle as well...
and it was a good thing Grace needed a some supplies from the thrift store, because I came across a whole bag of miniature vintage Christmas ornaments for 75 cents...here are a couple of the cute little santa ornaments...oh how I love retro Christmas goodies!!!
