Kate found this witch hat and instantly knew that she wanted to be a witch. I threw together the rest of the costume fairly easily...a pair of striped tights, a no-sew tutu I made, and grandma Sheri made her a little witch cape.
Lily knew exactly what she wanted to be. There was no question in her mind. She wanted to be an Egyptian (inspired by her idol, Kylee Sponenburgh). I just picked up a costume for her at the store...because after looking at making one, I figured there was no way I could buy fabric/notions and sew everything cheaper than I could buy it already made. It actually turned out to be the perfect costume, because Lily and Kate are studying Egypt in their 1st grade homeschool history. They are SOOOOO into the History...and everything Egyptian! She told me when she put her costume on, that she decided that she would be Isis, the Egyptian Goddess of the Nile River. I was impressed because we had just learned about Egyptian Gods last week, and she remembered her name, and even all about her husband, Osiris, the God of the Nile River.
Russ is getting tired of being "cute" for Halloween...so he wanted to be scary. A scary Werewolf suited him just fine. I told him to smile for the photo, but he kept giving me this evil grin...
Grace wanted to be an old woman for Halloween...which was easy...because with my collection of vintage clothes, hats and jewelry lying around the house...we didn't have to come up with much to complete her costume other than some white hair spray. She wore grandma Coral's old glasses (of course we punched the lenses out of them) and aunt Lisa's old fur shall.
Big Bad Wolfs have something against old ladies...
Yes...I realize I have more pics of Grace than anyone else. The littler ones were just too excited to take photos!!! Grace on the other hand...well, she fit the "old lady" costume just fine, because after a few photos, she became rather senile
After photos, it was time to go and visit the grandmas. Sadly, grandma Russell was very sick with the flu, so we didn't get to see her :( We did go to grandma Hudmans and grandma Sheri's houses though :)
The photos were going great until the werewolf decided to attack aunt Shelby...
After visiting grandmas, we headed over to Trunk or Treat at our church. The kids had a great time seeing all of their friends, and got WAY to much candy!
After Trunk or Treat, Ashley and Todd came over for dinner! We had homemade chili and cornbread, with pumpkin cake for dessert. Perfect end to a perfect day.

Hi ! I am a long time reader of your blog. I was wasting my precious time on pinteret and there was a picture of your daughter (If I am correct) from a hair tutos website : http://www.perfectlocks.com/blog/how-to-create-bantu-knots-bantu-knot-outs . I just wondered if you were aware of that.
Your kids are so cute in their halloween costumes btw ;-).
