In the evening...when the heat of the day finally gives way to the cool evening air, we love to be outside in the garden. There is always something that needs done. It is a LOT of work...don't get me wrong...but we love spending time together working in the garden. Weeding, picking...it's the perfect family activity. The garden is growing nicely and we are starting to get lots of fresh produce...but pretty soon, the workload is going to really hit home. We will be canning and freezing like crazy for the rest of the summer!

Your post was very informative thank you for that

wow, just found your blog through Pinterest and I LOVE it! Thank you for sharing all your special family recipes!! Your garden looks amazing, isn't fresh produce from your backyard the best? I just started doing a garden these last few years as we've just moved out of town and are now enjoying country living, here in Canada. Did you lay down sand in your garden rows?? How do you keep all your weeds down? Do you roto till it every year? Thanks for sharing your beautiful pictures, you've inspired me :)

It would take an ocean of water to achieve that gorgeous garden in Missouri. I've missed your blog and stopped by, your children are just as precious as ever!

What a gorgeous post. So in love with the size of your garden. I have plenty of room but too many trees, not enough light! I only have a small area in the front I can take advantage of. Your family is beautiful.

Your garden looks amazing! I wish my garden looked half as good. But with it being such a bad drought year, its not much of anything.
p.s. love all your post.
