Russell had his first Pinewood Derby this week. He and David have been spending the week finalizing his car. Russell has loved going to the shop with dad to work on the car. It has been a great experience for them. They boys were all so proud of their cars. It was fun to watch all of their excitement as they raced on the track. Russell got 9th place overall, but he won the award for the coolest looking car, so that really excited him!!!

I want to see a photo shoot of the car! I volunteered at MDA summer camp, and helped the kids with their cars, so I love to see them!

Receiving the award for the coolest looking car is definitely an achievement! Congratulations, Russel! I'm glad that a lot of kids nowadays are engaged in toy car racing. It's good because it keeps them active and interested in cars, while also spurring their creativity and competitiveness.
